Inspiration from Reggio Emilia
“…we oppose any prophetic pedagogy which knows everything before it happens, which teaches children that every day is the same, that there are no surprises, and teaches adults that all they have to do is repeat that which they were not able to learn.”
Loris Malaguzzi – Founder of Reggio Emilia’s educational philosophy
Oberlin Early Childhood Center Makes a Difference
We have been delighted with our child’s experience at OECC, with her development, and with the love and care she receives from staff. Parent teacher conferences have been useful for tracking her developmental progress and resources for us to educate ourselves have been made readily available.
I was nervous to leave my first baby in the care of another person but I could not have chosen a more loving place than OECC. They love my child and she has attached to the teachers in her room. They care about how she sleeps and eats and have been a support to me.
Wonderful, experienced, and caring staff! We love the outdoor space and that our child gets to spend time learning about the community he lives in by walking about Oberlin and visiting various places. I am amazed by the conversations I have with my child every day about what he is learning at OECC.
